The goal of our food pantry is to meet the needs of the community by filling in the gap for families.  We provide food to all Citrus County residents who qualify.  To qualify, residents fall into one of the below categories:

  1. Current Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program (SNAP) (formerly Food Stamps)
  2. Current recipient of Supplemental Security Income (SSI) (does not include SSA or SSD)
  3. Medicaid
  4. Income Eligibility (within 200% of poverty guidelines listed here)

Beyond feeding families there is a need in the community to feed the homeless.  Their needs require a different type of distribution than the traditional pantry.  We are partnering with Helping Hands to deliver ready-to-eat food to the homeless in our area.

We can always use your help in serving food to the hungry people in our community.  If you have an question, want to volunteer, or would like to somehow contribute, call the food pantry at (352) 228-4907 or call the office at (352) 563-1860.
