About Us

Dr. Jack Seeberg, Inverness, has recently joined NCM as Executive Director. Dr. Seeberg operated his own dental practice for over 20 years followed by teaching dental students and reorganizing a non-profit dental clinic in Tennessee. Dr. Seeberg’s experience with non-profit dental care is extensive and his desire to improve the overall health of the underserved is inspiring.

Linda Witherow, DDS, Crystal River is President and Board Member for four years.  With a doctorate of Dental Science from West Virginia University School of Dentistry, Dr. Witherow has had a private dental practice in Citrus County for over 25 years.  Dr. Witherow brings her experience in running an efficient dental clinic to the Board and is leading our dental team at the Free Dental Clinic.

Sue Grable, C.D.A., RDA is three years on the Board of Directors.  Mrs. Grable has been in the dental field for over 35 years working chair side, office management, while teaching Dental Radiology at Mott College in Michigan. Since arriving in Florida she has assisted in the development of the Dental Program for the CCHD and was invited to develop a Dental Education Program for the C.R.H.S. Health Career Academy again teaching Radiology, Health Science II, and Dental Aide while placing her students in local dental offices for their Internships. Our Lord allowed the program to grow enough to have an outstanding 6 chair Dental "Office" in CRHS that is envied by many.  Community Health and Well Being is of utmost importance to Mrs. Grable.

Bonnie McMullin, Inverness is Director of Public Relations for nine years. Ms. McMullin is the face of Nature Coast Ministries as she shares the Ministries' mission and needs with local churches, Chamber of Commerce members and multiple non-profit groups within the community. Additionally, with over 25 years of experience in retail, Ms. McMullin is active in organizing the Ministries' thrift shop.
Bob Plaisted, Inverness.  Mr. Plaisted is a recent addition to our Board.  Following 25 years of operating successful rental businesses in Tampa, Mr. Plaisted moved to Inverness where he was elected Mayor in 2004 and is now serving his 4th term. While he is very active in his official capacity as Mayor, Mr. Plaisted is also highly involved in his church, where he serves as a deacon, and also provides advice to many non-profit charitable organizations.

Sylvia Lacey is a recent addition to the Board of Directors and has also taken on the position of Treasurer.  Ms. Lacey is a staff accountant with over 15 years of experience in payroll, bookkeeping and taxes.  She is also a Certified QuickBooks Advisor.

George Bendtsen, Inverness.  Recently joining the Board of Directors, Mr. Bendtsen has over 25 years of experience in the life and health insurance business.  Mr. Bendtsen also has six years of experience with the Citrus County Chamber of Commerce and has served on several other non-profit Boards.

P.K. Webb, Crystal River, Director & volunteer for two years.  As an accountant with 25 years of experience in multi-state & multi-jurisdictional accounting, Ms. Webb brings bookkeeping and accounting advice to the Ministries as well as bookkeeping experience for several Texas non-profit organizations such as “Love for Kids.”

Victoria Shaffer, Beverly Hills, Director and volunteer for nine years.  As a CPA and CMA with 25 years of experience in accounting, Ms. Shaffer brings non-profit bookkeeping and accounting advice to the Ministries. With her accounting and report-writing skills, Ms. Shaffer is also reaching out to the community to raise awareness of the need for free dental services for those living in poverty and to secure funding for NCM to succeed in that area.

Kathy Wagner, our new Front Desk Volunteer, is amazing, she has jumped into a position that could be very difficult for some and makes it look like a piece of cake. And she goes “above and beyond” while still planning on how to improve different challenging situations and make things run as smoothly as possible for everyone.

With Dr. Linda Witherow serving every Monday and Dr. Art Burt serving patients every Friday we are able to increase our numbers considerably.  We have so many THANK YOUS… and happy, thankful  faces leaving our office that it surely does make all efforts so worthwhile.

We cannot leave our our evening Dentists. Dr. Chuck Thomas and his Assistant Joann and Hygienist Jill come in once a month after their full day of patients in Homosassa. They have given us all of their dates for this year and that makes it so much easier to schedule patients and they are also faithful servants.

Our simple and surgical extraction team is growing thanks to our dental Volunteers. Besides our faithful  Dr. Picardo  (& Jenn) from Inverness, we have Dr. Michael Rowe (Hollie) from Citrus Hills Dental, Dr. Spenn and Dr. Rustemier from Ocala during the evenings  after a long working day in their own offices.  Dr. Hamrick joined us on Fridays for a few days while he and his wife are “snowbirds’ from the Carolina’s. He is looking forward (as are we) to his return in the fall of 2020.

Next to be noted is the faithful service that Jerry Sharef continues to give to the Clinic. I just want to make sure that it is noted that Jerry wants to help the dental professionals as much as possible. Jerry is always at the Clinic before the doctors and leaves as soon as the instruments are taken care of. Jerry has his new “team”, Dr. Keith Seibert, a retired Chiropractor with dental experience from his time in the Navy, and Chris Stokes, a retired R.N. who spend much of her time with Oncology patients.

God is blessing us with two more Dental Professionals. Lisa Hilsdon, a dental Hygienist and Dr. Jacqueline Primis, DMS….plus my special dental friends from Dunelleon, Nina, RDA, & Jenn RDH.
We cannot be more thankful for all of our volunteers in the clinic and our sweet and faithful group who work so well with their managers Edie and Kevin at the Thrift Shop. (Rob, Debie, Joann, Bob, Carol, Tiffany, Jayson, their spouses and others)
